# Folder Group Configuraiton

Before creating additional Folder Groups, please consult the [Global File System Architecture KB](/v1/docs/global-file-system-architecture). Configuring unnecessary Folder Groups will increase the complexity of a deployment and its management overhead.

1. [Login](/v1/docs/login-to-cloud-file-storage) to your Portal
2. On the navigation pane, select **Folders** and **Folder Groups**

3. Select **New Folder Group**
  1. Configure the Folder Group
    1. Name:                      **ServiceAccountName** or **ServiceAccountNameDescriptor** (If multiple Folder Groups are utilized)
    2. Owner:                    **ServiceAccount**
    3. Deduplication:         **Fixed Block Size**
    4. Block Size:               **4 MB**
    5. Map File Size:          **640000 KB**
    6. Compression:           **Yes, High Speed**
    7. Encryption:               **Yes**

  2. Select **Save**
4. Once created verify the folder group on the **Folder Groups** page
