# Agent-based backup for Linux Operating System

### **Overview:**

OS Backup for Linux/UNIX servers will include all data (non-DB) by default, unless otherwise requested.

### **Expedient Recommended Disk Space:**

- 2 GB of /tmp available
- 1 GB of minimum disk space is required for installing the software
- 5 GB of free disk space is required for the job results directory
- 3 GB of free disk space is required for log directory

### **Install Path:**

- Home Directory = /opt/commvault/Base
- Log Directory = /var/log/commvault/Log_Files
- Core Directory = /opt/commvault
- Temp Directory = /opt/commvault/Base/Temp

### **Physical Servers:**

- Customer to provide storage and NIC drivers (needed to create ISO specific to your environment for performing full system restores).

### **Special Considerations:**

- A File System Agent may need to be installed in order to process a restore request for any virtual machine that is over 1 TB in size and is subscribed Commvault image-based backups.
- Linux File Systems leveraging LVM encryption are not supported for full system (1-Touch) recoveries.
- 1-Touch recoveries for Solaris are not supported.
