# vGateway AD Authenticated Login

The vGateways can be optionally configured to authenticate administrator access via Active Directory users and groups. This allows for an administrator to login without utilizing the local account, but rather their AD account which is a member of a specific group.

This configuration is not necessary to allow end users to authenticate with Windows based ACLs on the file system, this is solely for administration of the vGateway appliance.

1. 
  1. [Login to the Cloud File Storage vGateway](https://portal.document360.io/v1/docs/login-to-cloud-file-storage)
  2. Select **Users** and then **Groups**
  3. Select the **Group** you wish to add Active Directory Groups or Users to
    1. This will typically be either **Administrators or Read Only Administrators**

  4. You can now [login](https://portal.document360.io/v1/docs/login-to-cloud-file-storage) to the vGateway with a configured user by entering the credentials on the login page
