# vGateway SNMP Alerting

Each vGateway can be optionally configured for SNMP access inside of your network. To configure the vGateway for SNMP monitoring follow the configuration steps below.

Please note that the vGateways do not send active SNMP traps from the device, all SNMP functionality must source from a monitoring platform inside of your environment.

**Configure SNMP**

1. [Login](https://portal.document360.io/v1/docs/login-to-cloud-file-storage) to the vGateway

3. Configure SNMP and select **Save**
  1. SNMP Enabled: **Checked**
  2. SNMP Port: **161 (Default) or *Config***
  3. Read Community: ***Config***
  4. Enable SNMPv3: ***Config***
  5. **Username: *Config***
  6. Password: ***Config***
4. SNMP has now been configured on the vGateway for use on a monitoring system in your network

The below MIB files are supported by the vGateway to leverage in your local SNMP configuration.

- MIB-II (IF-MIB)
  - Basic description of the monitored system, such as the system name, uptime, and network interfaces
  - For details of this MIB, refer to [http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/interfaces.html](http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/interfaces.html) and [http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/ifMIBObjects.html](http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/ifMIBObjects.html).
- HOST-RESOURCES-MIB
  - Computer management information, hardware and software configuration, such as information regarding system initialization, processes, storage, memory, processors, and devices.
  - For details of this MIB, refer to [http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/host.html](http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/host.html).
- UCD-SNMP-MIB
  - System performance data, such as system statistics and performance.
  - For details of this MIB, refer to [http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/ucdavis.html](http://www.net-snmp.org/docs/mibs/ucdavis.html).
