The vGateways can be optionally configured to authenticate administrator access via Active Directory users and groups. This allows for an administrator to login without utilizing the local account, but rather their AD account which is a member of a specific group.
This configuration is not necessary to allow end users to authenticate with Windows based ACLs on the file system, this is solely for administration of the vGateway appliance.
- Login to the Cloud File Storage vGateway
- Select Users and then Groups
- Select the Group you wish to add Active Directory Groups or Users to
- This will typically be either Administrators or Read Only Administrators
- Select Next as you do not want to reconfigure the group name
- Utilize the UI to add the appropriate Users and Groups and select Next
- Select Finish
- You can now login to the vGateway with a configured user by entering the credentials on the login page
