This section provides quick answers to common questions and troubleshooting guidance for the AI CTRL Platform.

Common Questions

Q: How do I know which AI model to choose?
A: Start with the Smart Model Router for most tasks - it will evaluate your question and match it to the correct model. For example, quick simple questions will likely be routed to GPT5 mini for faster processing times. See AI Models for the list of available models with descriptions to better understand the options and find one that best matches your use case.

Q: Can I use AI CTRL Secure Gateway for sensitive company information?
A: Yes, all data that enters the AI CTRL Secure Gateway is managed under Expedient’s Data and Privacy standards ensuring that data is only stored within your organization's infrastructure, ensuring your conversations and data stay private and secure. However, always follow your organization's data handling policies.

Q: What if the AI gives me incorrect information?
A: AI models can make mistakes or provide outdated information. Always verify important information, especially for recent events or current data. Use the Web Search feature for real-time information when needed. See Understanding AI Basics for a better understanding of how AI works.

Q: How long can my conversations be?
A: While AI can handle long conversations, extremely lengthy discussions may lead to decreased response quality. Different models have different limitations. If you notice the AI becoming less focused, consider starting a new conversation and summarizing key points from the previous one.

Q: Can I share conversations with colleagues?
A: Yes, you can share conversations through the Conversation Manager. Look for the share option under the three dots in the conversation title to create a shareable link.

Q: Why am I getting a notification saying AI CTRL wants to “Look for and connect to any device on your local network?”
A: AI CTRL has the ability to create and run a dedicated web-app on your local computer. Allowing the pop-up will enable Google Chrome to download the stand alone app.

Q: Why can’t AI CTRL read all the data or is missing rows in an Excel sheet?
A: Excel sheets are considered structured data (in contrast to unstructured data like written text) which AI struggles to process because it works by fuzzy matching general patterns and not exact values. There are tools and techniques that can be developed for structured data whether it is in an Excel sheet, a database, or some other structured format. AI CTRL Admins can work with Expedient to develop specific workflows.

Quick Troubleshooting

  • Verify you're using your organization's correct login page

  • Ensure you're using your work credentials, not personal accounts

  • Check if you're in the same conversation (not a new chat)

  • For very long conversations, consider starting fresh with a summary

  • Enable the Web Search feature for real-time information

  • Use models with web access capabilities like Perplexity Sonar
