MySQL 5.x/8.x Database Backups

Overview:

Expedient can provide MySQL backups via the Commvault agent.

Security & Permissions:

Expedient requires the MySQL SA username and password in order for Commvault to authenticate with the MySQL application for the backup.

Advanced Vendor Information:

If Commvault's auto-discovery process does not pick up the MySQL Instance automatically, the following paths will need to be provided:

Binary Directory:

Windows Default Path:  C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\bin
Linux Default Path:  /usr/bin

Log Data Directory:

Windows Default Path:  C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\data
Linux Default Path:  /var/lib/mysql

Config File:

Windows Default Path: C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\my.ini
Linux Default Path:  /etc/my.cnf

Socket File:

Linux Default Path:  /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
