Common Application Settings & Checks
- OS Settings
- Group Policy - Check ALL GPOs
- Antivirus – Expedient default AV protection is Elastic Endpoint Protection
- ALL other antivirus/anti-malware applications must be removed before installing SEP
- Backups – Expedient default Data Protection is Commvault v11 or Cohesity
- Multiple backup software solutions are not preferred.
- Monitoring via SNMP
- SNMP must be enabled and all setting will be reviewed for proper monitoring
Server Health Check
Review Event Logs for Warnings and Critical Alerts
Review disk free space to allow agents to be installed
Review of applications and services running (including Windows Roles/Features)
Expedient is looking for conflicting applications and services that may conflict with management and monitoring packages
Physical Servers:
- Check vendor specific server health management application (IE: Dell OpenManage)
- Review and confirm Remote Access capability
- Dell: “iDRAC”
- HP: “LightsOut”
- Review firmware versions for vendor support
