Expedient Pre-Assessment Scripts

Article Summary

When needed, Expedient will provide the pre-assessment script to run on each server, gathering basic information about the server(s) subscribed to Data Protection. Rest assured that there is nothing malicious in the script and you are free to open the file and review what information is being gathered. Rather than bundling these commands into a .bat or .vbs or the something similar that is likely to be blocked by your e-mail client, we will simply send you a .txt file.

Windows

The Windows script leverages Microsoft native commands from the Server command (cmd) prompt. We ask that you open an elevated cmd prompt (that is, Run as Administrator in most recent versions of Windows) and paste the entire contents of our .txt file. This will output results to a new .txt file in the C:\Expedient folder on your server. Include and attach the file to the Expedient SMC (Support Management Center) ticket assigned to the project.

Linux

The Linux script leverages Linux native commands and can be ran as a non-root user. We ask that you SSH into the server, copy the contents of the script into a new text file, make the file an executable and then run it. This will output results to a new .txt file in /tmp on your server. Include and attach the file to the Expedient SMC.
